The YotaPhone may finally be coming to the USA! Meanwhile, Spotify ignores Cast while Razer holds an awesome sale.
It was certainly exciting to see YotaPhone at CES 2015, a convention the Russian manufacturer had never ventured into before. Could this be a sign of something? It seems the “big step” is coming for YotaPhone, and they wanted to come to the USA and talk to us all about it.
The YotaPhone 2 is on its way to the USA, and not only unlocked. This bad boy is said to be coming to at least one carrier, which means it will have a pretty wide reach fromt he get-go.
Of course, possible carriers include mostly the big ones: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. I hear that Verizon was asking for an exclusive, though. Let’s wait and see what happens!
Opinion: While it’s true that an exclusive with Verizon would limit the audience, we must also consider the selling power that Verizon is. This is the biggest carrier in the USA. Should YotaPhone go with this partner, or try and snatch multiple of the others?
Every other company seems to be on board with Google Cast, but a long time has passed and Spotify is still missing in the game. What is going on? Will Spotify support Google Cast any time soon?
It seems not. The music streaming service has told Pocket-Lint that they will instead focus on their own solution – Spotify Connect. The idea is that they can ensure better quality if they can see the experience from end to end, instead of letting Google handle part of the show.
Opinion: In other words, they want to compete. Spotify has just announced they have over 15 million paid subscribers and 60 million free users. Those are some serious numbers, which means they have a strong consumer base and can probably make it with their exclusive services.
Razer gaming gear very rarely goes on discount, but this year they have decided t go all out. The company had a great year at CES 2015, where they won multiple awards, including Best of CES for the Razer Forge TV. What better way to celebrate than with an ultra sale?
The company will be offering steep discount for 24 hours, starting today, January 12th, at 6 PM Pacific. The sale would end on January 13 at 5:59 PM Pacific. Everything will be 50% off, except for gaming systems, which will be offered at a 30% discount.
Not bad, right? But you are limited to only 1 item per customer, so don’t try to go nuts. Also, you will need to get a code from the Razer Insider site.
Opinion: This is one hell of a sale, so get your wallets ready to get some of the best gaming devices and accessories at the best price you will see in a long time. Traffic will be high and these products should fly out of the shelves, so don’t take too long to make your decision.
