A rectangular shaped display with a logo placed somewhere on the bezel alongside a series of connectors pretty much sums up every TV on the market. But the one glaring difference between the TV market and the ecosystem in which Apple is currently flushing in, is that none of the TV manufactures are suing each other. And now think about this ridiculous US trial of Apple vs Samsung:
Truth is, you can only design a touch screen phone or a tablet so many ways!
Anyone who says that one company copied a design from another is absolutely right but this isn’t about stealing an idea, it’s a generic design and common sense! A touchscreen device has to have a central display.
Have you ever seen a TV with the display in the upper right corner and the logo in the lower left?
So what makes Apple believe that they are the only company in the world that is allowed to patent common and generic designs to sue their competitors? All they are doing is trying to stop consumers from being able to choose between products.
Spend a little bit of time thinking about the central design concept of the TV, which hasn’t exactly changed in the 50 years.
