Verizon is all over the news today. Wonder why? Keep reading to find out. We also want to show you the coolest thing we have seen this week!
Verizon assigns new CEO
Verizon is going through some major changes. The company has announced a switch in leadership, with CEO Dan Mead stepping back and giving the title to John Stratton. John comes from within the company. He used to be the President of Global Enterprise and Consumer Wireline.
Mead will stay until the sale of the Wireline division and then will retire. He has been CEO of Verizon since 2010, so he saw the smartphone boom through.
Opinion: It will definitely be sad to see Dan Mead go, but maybe Verizon needs a change. After all, a change in leadership did wonders for T-Mobile. Now, we are not saying John Stratton is another John Legere, but maybe he can offer a better perspective into Verizon’s future.
Verizon introduces new $60 prepaid plan
Looking to join the Verizon prepaid family? We have already told you which are the best phones you can get, but you have to consider which is the best plan, too. If the latest leak is to be believed, you may finally have an option that really satisfies your data needs.
According to a leaked document, Verizon is planning to introduce a new $60 plan that offers unlimited talk, unlimited text and 2.5 GB of data. In addition, they are also getting rid of their $45 and $35 plans. These will be replaced with a single $35 plan that will offer unlimited talk, unlimited text and 500 MB of data.
Opinion: It’s great to see a prepaid plan with more than a mealy GB of data. 1 GB is really not a lot, even for an average user. These changes are said to go into effect come March 1st. Is anyone signing up?
This is hands-down the coolest iPhone 6 case I have ever seen
I was completely blown away by this iPhone 6 case. It’s a Delorean from Back to the Future! This thing has movable parts to reveal the camera and buttons, in addition to lights that activate when a call comes through.
It’s freaking amazing. Likely the coolest thing I have seen this week. If you want to rock one of these, it is made by Bandai and will be sold primarily in Japan for a price of 5940 Yen. This would be about $50 USD.
Opinion: If I ever buy an iPhone 6, it will be just to use one of these!
