Finding the right laptop is always a hard feat for the business user. Some are not built to last, are too bulky or simply don’t offer the functionality a business warrior requires. Toshiba is now entering the arena with a contender that promises everything the enterprise market needs to get work done. Is it good enough for you?
We are at CeBIT 2015 and came across the Toshiba Z20t. We immediately got our cameras ready and got the show going, so let’s take a look at the details and find out if this bad boy should be your next device.
Toshiba Z20t specs
- Windows 7 or 8.1
- 12.5-inch 1080p LED display
- Intel Core M-5Y71 processor
- Intel HD Graphics GPU
- 4/8 GB of RAM
- 128/256 GB of internal storage
- 36 Wh in tablet, 36 Wh in keyboard dock
- 3.3 lb with keyboard dock
Toshiba did a great job building this laptop/tablet hybrid. It can be docked or un-docked from the keyboard, which gives it the user-friendliness of a tablet, as well as the functionality of a laptop. The system is pretty solid and works seamlessly.
The device feels very solid and the keyboard is a beauty to type on. The only thing we didn’t like is the trackpad, which feels a bit flimsy and moves around a bit too much.
Now, remember this is an Intel Core M device, which means performance won’t be optimal. You won’t be editing your videos or playing any games with this machine, but you really don’t need to. This thing is meant for business professionals who want to get work done. It should be great for browsing, emails and working on documents, as well as having your video streaming fun from time to time.
And because this is a business device, it is priced as one. Prices start at $1399, which puts this laptop right up there with the Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro and the new MacBook. We do love that this one comes with a matte display, though, which should make it an amazing laptop to work on for long periods of time. But still – is it worth that much? Let’s see!
