Got yourself a brand-spanking new tablet? These devices are awesome on their own, but the optimal tablet experience can only be achieved if you have the right tools to go with it.
Here’s a great list of accessories to go with your large-screened mobile device. We tried to focus on product that would be useful for any tablet user. There are awesome exclusive tablet accessories out there, but these are the most likely to go well with any device.
Logitech Tablet Keyboard
Tablets are awesome as casual devices for media consumption, web surfing and social networking, but sometimes you also want to get down to business. If you really want your productivity to be boosted, you need to buy yourself a keyboard.
I am a big fan of the Logitech Tablet Keyboard. It is very well made, affordable and also doubles as a tablet stand. It’s super easy to carry around too, as the stand pretty much becomes the keyboard’s case. The only downside is you will need to use AAA batteries, so you should get yourself some rechargeables.
AmazonBasics Adjustable Tablet Stand
Let’s say you don’t want the keyboard, but you would really like to have a tablet stand for watching movies. You have a long list of options available, but I like going simple with this one. Amazon sells a very neat stand that can pretty much be used by any tablet.
It adjusts to size and angles, as well being amazingly portable. It folds up into this small shape that you can easily fit in any pocket.
V7 Premium Messenger Carrying Case
While we are on the topic of portability, let’s figure out how you will carry this tablet around. The V7 Premium Messenger Carrying Case is my favorite option for those who want to travel light with their tablet.
This small bag can fit your tablet, as well as your other accessories. It comes in a couple sizes, one for 8-inch tablets and the other for 10-inch pads. Of course, they can fit smaller ones, too. It’s also good-looking and very stylish, so you don’t have to look like a total cyborg.
Tech 3 Multi-function Pen and Stylus
I would tell you to just get a stylus, but having a pen available always comes in handy. So does carrying a red pen and a pencil. Thankfully, this one happens to be all of them in one.
The Tech 3 stylus looks like a stylish pen, but it has a stylus on one end of it. The other end can turn into a black pen, red pen or 0.5 mm pencil. Pretty handy, even if a bit pricey.
Long microUSB cable
Tablets are power-hungry. They can die fast and need a good amount of time charging that large battery. This means odds of you having to be tethered to a wall are higher, and you don’t want to be dealing with the usually short cables manufacturers give you.
Get yourself a long microUSB cable! I use this cable from Hi-mobiler. It works very well and measures in at a whopping 10 feet. It’s also available in a variety of colors, just in case you want to get playful.
Kingston Digital Mobility Kit
Tablets usually don’t have much storage, so you will need a little more space if you want to carry around all your media. This one is not for everyone, but it can be a good tool if you want to be able to use external storage conveniently.
The Kingston Digital Mobility Kit comes complete with a microSD crd, a full sD converter and even a USB converter. It’s affordable and you can get it in bundles of up to 32 GB.
eForCity Micro USB OTG to USB 2.0 Adapter
It’s no longer rare to see tablets with no full USB ports, so you will need one of these if you ever want to use a USB device. This pretty much converts your microUSB port into a full-sized USB port. Pretty handy, and amazingly cheap. Just get it.
iBattz 20,400mAh Mojo Battstation Optimus Charger
Tablets have huge batteries, so you also need a portable charger with huge capacity. You also don’t want to be carrying around a huge brick, though. I believe you can find the right balance with the iBattz Mojo Battstation Optimus Charger.
This bad boy comes packed with a whopping 20,400 mAh battery. It can charge your tablet more than once, and your phones plenty of times. It’s a bit pricey, but worth every penny. For more options, you can also take a look at our Best Portable Chargers post.
SuperTooth Disco 4
I have yet to use a tablet with decent sound quality. To be blunt, all of them suck at sound, so you will enjoy getting yourself a nice portable speaker. I have chosen the SuperTooth Disco 4 because, at its price, it happens to be the best quality you can get.
It is rechargeable and uses bluetooth to connect to your devices, so it is also very portable and convenient. If you really do want more quality, though, we also have a Best Bluetooth Speakers post.
Nyko Playpad Pro
Are you a gamer? If so, get yourself a nice bluetooth controller to go with that awesome new tablet. This will not only improve your experience, but it will make you a much better gamer altogether.
The Nyko Paypad Pro is the controller I actually use for my mobile gaming. It works great and it’s super affordable.
