New leaks and accidental teases come from Sony and Microsoft. Meanwhile, Samsung is not forgetting the fashion aficionados with its new Gear S design.
Good quality images of the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact have just appeared online. They give us a good look at the colorful smartphone, which does come in 4 colors: white, black, green and red. Of course, it’s a good-looking and looks very pocketable.
Another source has also told AusDroid the device should come with that awesome 20.7 MP camera. Other specs include a Snapdragon 801 processor, a 2.5 GHz processor, a 2600 mAh battery and a 4.7-inch 720p display.
Opinion: Though AusDroid calls these “press images”, they are far from being such. They seem more like better-shot pictures to me. Regardless, it does give us a good look at what could be coming during IFA.
We all know Windows 9 is in the works and we should be seeing it in due time, but any evidence of its existence is still reassuring. It seems Microsoft China just couldn’t keep its lips sealed.
In a Weibo post, Microsoft China mentions posts: “Microsoft’s latest OS Windows 9 is coming soon, do you think the start menu at the left bottom will make a come back?”. This was accompanied by a Windows 9 wallpaper mock-up.
Opinion: It’s clear this was an accident, as the post was quickly taken down. It’s believed the new software will be coming at the end of this month, so stay tuned!
Smartphones and other gadgets are rarely a fashion statement, but Samsung is willing to bring a bit of bling to the Samsung Gear S. The Korean manufacturer is releasing a Gear S strap filled with Swarovski crystals.
This product would be part of the “Swarovski for Samsung” collection. It will be available starting October, through Samsung’s website and experience stores.
Opinion: I can see a higher demand for fashion-inspired products as wearables become more popular. After all, these are products everyone will see, unlike a smartphone that usually hides in your pocket.
