Samsung released the Galaxy S3 Mini yesterday and since its 4 inches the logical comparison is with the 4 inch iPhone 5. A quick side-by-side shows that the Apple iPhone 5 is clearly the more powerful. The Galaxy S3 Mini, however, is not meant to be a direct competitor to the iPhone 5. Samsung will leave that job up to the Galaxy S3.
The Galaxy S3 Mini is meant to be a mid-range handset that should appeal to anyone on a budget looking for an Android smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED display putting out a resolution of 480X800 pixels, compared to the 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED 720X1280 screen that the original Samsung Galaxy S3 has. It comes with a dual-core 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a VGA front cam.
The iPhone 5, on the other hand, comes with a 4-inch Retina display and a resolution of 1136X640. It features a dual-core A6 processor that has been clocked at around 1.3GHz. It also has a more-powerful 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for FaceTime HD.
Here is our comparison video so you can see how they stack up.
