There is plenty of interesting things to see at the CES 2015 show floor, but our friends at OPPO were a bit more interested in a specific device – the Polaroid Selfie smartphone.
This device has definitely raised many eyebrows in the industry, as it looks uncannily similar to OPPO’s design with the N1 and N3. The iconic rotating camera is clearly something that only OPPO has been doing in a larger scale, and it doesn’t seem like it would be easy to accidentally has the same technology.
Regardless, OPPO does have this technology patented and has reached out to us to let us know they will “continue to keep track of the event and reserves the right to take further legal action.” Well, let’s take a look at them and compare.
Yep… pretty similar. OPPO also points out that they haven’t licensed their design to any third parties yet, including Polaroid. Is another big smartphone fight sparking with the release of this phone? To be honest, it looks like OPPO has no chances of losing here. The phone’s camera does look way similar.
Polaroid hasn’t been doing great in the mobile industry, which is something they have been trying to change for a while. We will stay in contact with OPPO and get you all the information you need, as it comes, so stay tuned for more news on this!
