Xiaomi is taking over today’s afternoon news by taking its first step into the Western market. We are also hearing from LG, so make sure to keep reading!
Xiaomi headed to the USA, UK, Germany and France… kind of
Xiaomi is not taking its expansion to the West lightly. They have already announced they will start selling accessories in the USA, and now they have revealed the USA won’t be the only Western market to get this blessing.
It turns out this beta online store will be launching in the USA, UK, Germany and France come May 19th at 1 PM CEST. Customers will be able to purchase accessories, such as power banks, headphones and more.
Opinion: We won’t be able to buy phones just yet, but this is a good start. With Xiaomi inside the market, it’s only a matter of time before we start rushing to get our devices. One question: do you think Xiaomi phones will run out within minutes in the USA, as they do in every other market?
T-Mobile confirms LG G4 release date
It seems T-Mobile is walking on slippery floors today! The popular US carrier answered a question via Twitter earlier, pretty much confirming the LG G4 release date to a customer. The only problem here is that these dates are yet to be announced.
Of course, T-Mobile realized this very quickly and took the information down in a jiffy. For those wondering, though, they said the LG G4 would hit Magenta on June 2nd. That’s not a long wait!
Opinon: I am too much in love with Project Fi, but I would definitely buy an LG G4 if I wasn’t. I mean, have you guys seen that thing? If you haven’t, you best take a look at our hands-on coverage now!
LG Lancet: back in the Windows Phone game!
Remember when LG used to make Windows Phone devices? That was some time ago, but now they are back in the game! Albeit, with a very low-end Windows 8.1 smartphone. Guys, this thing costs $120 off-contract. It’s only available for Verizon, though.
If you are a Big Red subscriber looking for an affordable smartphone, this little guy could be a good option. It comes with a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, a 4.5-inch LCD display, an 8 MP rear camera and a VGA front shooter. LG is not saying much else about it, but you get the idea. It’s a basic phone.
Opinion: This thing is so cheap. I just can’t believe our times. We can buy a perfectly working phone for just $120! Look back a few years and see what kind of options we had at that price point.
