Tesla introduces its world-changing project while Apple apologizes for Watch tattoo issues. Looking for a deal? We also have one of those for you.
Tesla Energy to power homes and businesses affordably
Tesla is mostly known for its work in the automotive industry, but a big factor in their projects is alternative energy. Their vehicles are completely electric, and they want to adapt the same philosophy to your homes and businesses.
Enter Tesla Energy, a new project that will harness the power of solar energy. This type of technology is nothing new, but the novel idea here is the affordable price. These systems are nothing new, really, but they usually cost a fortune.
Tesla is offering the Powerwall for the home. This can be had in either 7 kWh or 10 kWh options, priced at $3000 or $3500, accordingly. These energy units take solar energy and save it, making up for their own price in savings, in the long run. This lithium-ion battery also measures about 3×4 feet, and can be mounted in any wall.
Need something a bit more… juicy? I am sure the bigger businesses and companies do, and Tesla definitely has something for them too. They call it Tesla Energy for Utility applications, and it allows 100 kWh battery blocks to be grouped, scaling from 500 kWh to 10 MWh and more.
Opinion: It’s a new era, and Tesla is proving once again that it wants to lead the movement for future generations to adopt alternative power sources. This is exciting, but are you getting yourself a Powerwall? That is the real question.
Apple Watch tattoo issues officially addressed
The Apple Watch wasn’t released without a few issues, but one of them may affect people’s experiences for life. Reports of the Apple Watch not working with people with wrist tattoos started emerging.
It seems tattoos get in the way of detecting your wrist and calculating your heartbeat. Apple has now officially addressed the issue. And though they don’t mention a solution coming, at least we know they have it in mind.
“Permanent or temporary changes to your skin, such as some tattoos, can also impact heart rate sensor performance. The ink, pattern, and saturation of some tattoos can block light from the sensor, making it difficult to get reliable readings.”
Opinion: There are definitely solutions for this. Maybe those with tattoos will simply have to wait for the next iteration of the Apple Watch to get all the features… hopefully.
Buy a Nexus Player for $70 and get $20 of Google Play credit
Looking to get yourself an Android TV? You could always go for Google’s very own Nexus Player. It is affordable, powerful and super convenient. Not to mention, Amazon is running a rather awesome deal for it right now.
The popular online retailer is selling the Nexus Player for just $70 (plus shipping). This is about a $30 discount over the original retail price. But a lower price is not all you get; you can also enjoy $20 of Google Play Store credit if you take the plung before Sunday, May 3rd.
Opinion: I was thinking of getting a Razer Forge TV, but this deal has me having second thoughts. It sounds pretty darn good!
