The day is full of news, but here we will put together the hottest news we can find. We got some stories on ASUS, T-Mobile, LG and Google. Stick around to read the latest and greatest!
Computex is about to take off and we are getting ready for all major Asian manufacturers to take off with a huge bang. One of the main players should, of course, be ASUS. The company happens to be local and a pretty major Asian player. We are not about how much they will be announcing, but we are getting an early look at an ASUS ZenPad.
A leaked press render shows a device that is said to come with a very interesting form factor, which we have seen in the past. It resembles a folded back notebook of sorts. The back is made of some kind of soft touch material and you can see the usual ports and buttons all around the device.
The ASUS ZenPad is said to come in two variations; a 7-inch version and an 8-inch bigger brother. Both should come with Intel processors and a variety of storage options. The main difference should be in the screen resolution. The 8-inch version is said to have a 2048×1536 resolution, while the smaller tablet will only have a 1024x600p panel.
Opinion: That’s quite a huge jump for tablets bearing the same branding and being only 1 inch apart. I can’t wait to hear more about this, though. ASUS has been doing an amazing job with its latest devices.
Tired of waiting? We know we are! We want those LG G4 smartphones in our hands, and we want them now! The only problem is that manufacturers are being a bit shady about when these phones will start shipping and hit stores. Well, T-Mobile has come out and told us the first bit of information today.
Online orders for the LG G4 start shipping on May 27th, the same day the purchase page will be launched. Magenta will be selling the phone for $599.76, or 24 monthly payments of $24.99. Oh, and try to be fast with your order, because LG and T-Mobile are offering a free 128 GB microSD card with your purchase, for a limited time. Go ahead and sign up for updates to learn more.
Opinion: The LG G4 is officially my favorite phone of 2015 so far. Yeah it may not have a Snapdragon 810 processor, but how many of you really need that? You think the Snapdragon 808 can’t handle your games and tasks? This phone has so much more to offer.
As if this is any news, a Google executive has confirmed Android M will be launching this year. This information comes straight from Android’s Vice President of Engineering Hiroshi Lockheimer, who states the following in an interview.
“As we’ve grown as a platform, we realize that to some extent predictability is important for the whole industry: developers, manufacturers, operators, and consumers, frankly. So we’ve landed with sort of a yearly cadence of big releases, so, for instance, one year we release J, the next year we release K, and then the year after that L, and then this year we’ll launch M, and so you can predict what will happen next year.”
Opinion: Nothing new here. I mean, this is something we were expecting, and we may see it as soon as this week, during Google IO.
