Now that IFA is wrapping up, we’re getting ready for the big Nokia Windows 8 Phone launch in New York tomorrow September 5th. A lot of information has already been leaked and Nokia loves to tease. Here’s a round up of all the Nokia news so that you know what to look for tomorrow.
With the Apple vs. Samsung patent trial damaging Samsung’s stance in the U.S., Nokia and Windows 8 Phones have become the clear winners. This may be Nokia’s chance to regain a little face.
The Nokia wireless charging pad popped up online not too long ago in a cute oblong hockey puck shape. Wireless headphones and their very own wireless charger appeared at the same time. If you don’t like the design of the wireless chargers, it turns out they are compatible with Qi too.
Nokia has also shown off some new headphones at IFA equipped with NFC and made by Monster. These big bad headphones even color coordinate with the Nokia Lumia smartphones perfectly. The added bonus of no cords, makes for a much happier life. How many times have you had to untangle your headphones for half an hour before you got around to listening to your music? Exactly.
And now for the smartphones. The Nokia Lumia 920 PureView will be one of the smartphones compatible with the wireless charger and will have an 8 megapixel back camera. Early rumors had speculated that the 920 PureView would have a significantly more powerful camera, but that’s not going to be the case. In terms of specs, we can expect a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. The display should be 4.5-inches and, in all likelihood, HD.
The Nokia 820 Arrow is another smartphone that’s leaked out on the web. It’s a midrange device with a 4.3 inch display and will be less expensive than the 920.
The Nokia Lumia 820, not to be confused with the Arrow above, leaked alongside the 920 PureView. The 820 has Windows 8 onboard as well, but is less powerful in terms of specs. The whole color spectrum will be available for the 820 from purple, blue, gray and black, to white, yellow, and red.
So that, in a nutshell is what we already know. Stay tuned tomorrow as we bring you all the Nokia news you want from the even in New York tomorrow.
