The Finnish manufacturer Nokia has put forth a new patent design, which when you look at it, appears to be very similar to the Lumia 610. It’s possible that this new design is an affordable Windows 8 phone.
The patent was registered on the 21st of August along with drawings of the smartphone’s design. Nokia certainly isn’t going to be making any more Windows 7.5 phones and this one looks like it will run Windows 8.
The main difference in design between the Lumia 610 and this patent is the different placement of speakers on the phone and the shape of the camera. The shape of the display hearkens back to a leaked photo we saw not that long ago of what was supposed to be a Windows 8 phone. Together, the patent designs and the photo present a pretty convincing case that this will be one of the first Windows 8 phones from Nokia.
We’ll know more for sure on September 5th when Nokia presents their new products.
