Samsung is building it’s own GPU according to Silicon Valley gossips, Windows 9 is coming and the most attractive wearable comes in at a budget price.
Samsung Working on it’s Own GPU?
Rumor has it that Samsung has been working on building their own GPU for a few years now, the fellas over at Fudzilla have heard from a few sources in the valley that the Korean giant has been poaching talent from Nvidia, AMD & Intel.
It takes 2 years to design a chip and if you’re new at it like Samsung it could take even longer, but if Samsung can cut out having to licence their graphics from someone else in the long run it will be a huge benefit. If Samsung can pull it off they would enjoy the same advantage that Apple currently has with their custom SOC. It will be interesting to find out if Apple is trying to make a GPU as it did a great job with its custom SoCs.
Microsoft Windows 9 is Officially Coming
The wait is over, we now know when Microsoft will be launching Microsoft Windows 9, the event will take place in San Francisco on September 30th. If we were going to speculate, Windows 9 will launch for PCs, laptops, tablets and phones and be a singular universal operating system across all your devices. It is rumored to be available in April 2015 but we should be getting look at a “Windows Technical Preview” at the launch event in a few weeks.
Most notably Windows 9 will have no charm bar and the Start Menu will return. When it comes to Windows Phone, we have our fingers and toes crossed that existing hardware will be updated since they weren’t so kind during the last update.
Wearables just got more interesting with MisFit coming out with Flash a budget version of Shine which was priced at $99.
