News is hot this morning! The Moto E was said to be the Moto G’s successor, but things got a lot more confusing with the latest rumors. In other news, Huawei seems to be making the Ascend P7 much more accessible in its native country. All while Dr Dre pretty much confirms the Beats acquisition by Apple.
We have heard rumors of the Moto E, a device that would succeed the Moto G with an even lower price. The latest rumors and leaks just turned the tables all around. Motorola’s web team has been a bit “messy” lately. They recently leaked the Moto X+1 and now we are getting clues of the upcoming Moto G devices.
Yes, the rumors include multiple Moto G devices, in different variations and with different purposes. These leaks include the Moto G 4G, Moto G 3G 4GB and the… Moto G Cinema? The latter comes with a very interesting name. We can only assume it will have a video/audio focus.

The Moto G 4G will probably just be a version of the device with 4G LTE connectivity, while the Moto G 3G 4GB should be the most affordable of the group. Prices are unclear, but the Moto G 4G seems to be only $189.
Opinion: The Moto G brand has gained momentum and it only makes sense for Motorola to take it to the next step. These will all be super affordable and offer unique features. Seeing the success of the original Moto G, I can bet these will all be instant hits!
The Huawei Ascend P7 was announced yesterday, with a price that didn’t leave many very content. At 449 Euros (or $625 USD), this is not the most affordable device. Huawei is selling the device for much cheaper in China, though.
If you are in Huawei’s home country, you can get the Ascend P7 for 2888 Yuan, which equals to about $463. This is much more accessible compared to the device’s price in the rest of the world.
Opinion: I was one of those who believed the Ascend P7 was simply too expensive. It’s an amazing device, but we are a bit spoiled by the Chinese manufacturers. At $463, I would be much more willing to pull out my wallet.
The tech industry is one thing, but when mixed with the music industry things can get pretty loud. Especially when we have hip hop or rappers involved! Dr Dre may have just confirmed Beats By Dre will be acquired by Apple.
This was not directly mentioned in Dr Dre’s celebratory video, but we can piece everything together. If phrases like “Billionaire-boys club”, “the Forbes list just changed” and “South Central you motha _____” don’t throw you a clue, I don’t know what does (OK, maybe not the last one!).
Dr Dre also called himself the “first billionaire in Hip Hop”, which is just the cherry on the cake. We expect an announcement to come soon, so stay tuned!
Opinion: I don’t know what to make of such acquisition. Is it about the headphones? Is it about the music service? Maybe both? We don’t know, but this would be Apple’s biggest acquisition. They definitely gave it some thought.
