The Moto X+1 has been leaked from Motorola’s website once again, this time with a very odd price. Meanwhile, LG is breaking boundaries with super high-resolution displays. They have already released a device with a QHD screen, and more are to come.
The guys at Motorola’s website just can’t keep the upcoming Moto X+1 behind covers! This would be the second time they have leaked the Moto X successor, but this one is a bit more interesting. They have included a price with it. A rather odd one, at that.
Motorola’s site was stating the device would cost -$400 (yes, that’s a minus sign). We are sure Motorola won’t be paying you to take their smartphone, but maybe this could be a clue that the device will cost $400?
The page was quickly pulled down, but we somehow believe we will be seeing more of this smartphone soon.
Opinion: If the device really ends up costing $400, it would not be a bad deal at all. That’s closer to the price Moto X fans were expecting, and this won’t exactly be a mid-end device. It should be very capable and customizable.
LG has announced that its QHD smartphone displays have just received certification from NEMKO. The successful tests assure that the display will go on mass production, but the most important news is in the small print. LG states that this 2560x1440p display will come packed inside the LG G3.
“The new Quad HD LCD panel will be unveiled with the forthcoming LG’s flagship smartphone to be launched in the first half of the year.”
That was a very badly-kept secret. This display was the subject of countless leaks and rumors, but having official confirmation makes it all that much more clear.
Opinion: Many of you know what I think about these super high-definition displays coming in smartphones, but if you don’t – I believe they are pointless. I have my reasons and you can check out an editorial I wrote about it.
Today’s LG announcement didn’t come without something to tout. LG now has a smartphone with a QHD 2560x1440p display to show the world! This device goes by the name of LG Isai FL and it is only coming to the Japanese market.
Of course, the device needs powerful specs just to be able to run a display like this one. The LG Isai FL sports a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 13 MP camera, a 3000 mAh battery and (of course) a 5.5-inch QHD screen.
If any of our Japanese readers are interested, this smartphone will be available on May 27th.
Opinion: Once again, I am not a fan of smartphone displays with over 1080p resolution, but this device is pretty awesome. Just look at the images. That bezel (or lack thereof) is amazing!
