LG’s upcoming G Pad 7 has shown up at a benchmark, revealing all its specs. Many of you may also want to know Chromecast has finally reached Asia. In other news, Smash the Past winners are finally getting their OnePlus One devices!
LG is not keeping its upcoming G Pad tablets very secret. In fact, the company gave us a glimpse of them yesterday. These devices are set to target different audiences with difference form factors, but now we know these could also offer very different specs and prices.
The latest leak comes from a G Pad 7 AnTuTu benchmark, which shows the device’s internals in all their glory. This should not be an expensive tablet, as it sports a Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, a 1280x800p screen and 3.2MP/1.3MP cameras.
Opinion: I thought these would all be high-end tablets, with only screen size differentiating them. It might still be a good deal, though. We have to wait for more details. But don’t worry, they should be coming soon.
South Korea has officially become the first Asian market to get Chromecast availability. Google’s HDMI dongle is available in for Koreans starting today. But why South Korea?
There are benefits to owning the biggest search engine in the world. Google can tell South Koreans are very tech savvy. 80% of all Korean YouTube videos come from mobile devices, as opposed to the world’s average 40%.
They also know Korean TV shows are amazingly popular in Asia, which makes it a good country to start with.
Opinion: I can no longer imagine living without a Chromecast and am glad our fellow South Korean techies are now able to get a hold of one. Who is signing up for one?
Winners get the special treatment. Not only are they among the first to ever get a One Plus One, they also got it for just $1, had fun smashing a phone (or donating it), and got a thank you note signed by OnePlus CEO Pete Lau.
Opinion: We hope you guys are enjoying your new phones! I know I would be. If any of our readers have a OnePlus One in hand, please let us know how you are liking it.
