Monday mornings are always a bit stressful, so we thought we would brighten your day with some unique stories. We love our specs and gadgets, but sometimes you have to look around to see just how odd the world is. Today we have the crazy, the cute and even some tech gossip.
The LG G3 is an exceptionally large device, but it sure isn’t getting any Guinness World Records awards. That honor is given to LG’s newest ad, which is a massive 3000-square-meter billboard they have risen outside the King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia.
This bad boy expands 240 meters wide and 12 meters high. Saudi Arabia is a very business-centric city, with over 20 million traveling through this airport each year. LG expects this add to give them over $25 million in business, so building this mastodon of an ad was probably worth it.
This LG billboard will be used for the manufacturer’s multiple campaigns after the LG G3 serves its time. Mobile devices will continue to be featured, as well as appliances and other products.
Opinion: This ad is fun and impressive, but I still can’t believe billboard ads can pull so much business. I do understand having an advertising presence makes a difference in the long run, but will this add really bring that much money in?
… Microsoft seems to think so! This is why their latest commercial brings in a cure mesh of clips featuring a cat family. It’s a bit of a cute and playful video that shows a conversation between daddy and mommy (cats).
You get to see the cats unlocking the screen and sending each other loving text messages, as well as a video of the baby kittens playing around.
Opinion: This is a cute and funny video that I believe will get much attention. This is why I wish Microsoft would have shown more than just the basic functions of the platform. I would have loved to see more features and unique apps being displayed.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg may have a lot of pull, but even his status is not enough to keep neighbord satisfied. And of course, San Francisco citizens already have enough problems to deal with. Neighbors are now realizing having the Facebook CEO in the area is not as great as it seems.
A $10 million remodel has been going on since April 2013. It’s said 40-50 workers have been working their jackhammers and construction machinery since then. The remodel will bring in a new kitchen, bathrooms, decks, and even a turntable pad for cars!
Even the sidewalks are being dug up to install a whole set of fiber optic cables going directly to the house.
Opinion: This will be one hell of a house once completed. And you can’t beat the location, which is right next to the popular Dolores Park. It seems Mark will have to spend most of his time indoors, though, as his neighbors won’t be very nice to him anymore.
