Samsung can’t be happy about leaks of their new Galaxy Grand Prime. Amazon silently puts a new eReader into their shop and Chromebooks with Wireless Charging are closer than you think. This and more after the break.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime leaked
Samsung has a new mid-range smartphone in the works. The selfie-focused Galaxy Grand Prime (G-530) has a 5MP front-facing camera. Under the hood we have a 5 inch display with a resolution of 960 x 540, a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor running at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of memory. But don’t worry, it does come with a MicroSD card slot. It even comes with a 2,600 mAh battery in case you cared to know.
This leak is thanks to a Vietnamese site called thegioididong.com
Amazon Kindle Voyage
Cashy over at stadt-bremerhaven.de uncovered a treat for us today by stumbling upon a new eReader. For a brief period of time Amazon.de showed off the Kindle Voyage, a 6 inch eReader with a pixel density of 300 ppi (current tops at 212 ppi). According to their site it will start shipping on November 4th. All we have as proof of the new device is the screen shot below. We wonder when we’ll be hearing about this from Amazon…officially.
If you haven’t checked out Cashy’s Blog you really should, he’s one of the most respected bloggers in Germany and he’s a very good friend of everyone over at Mobile Geeks.
Chromebooks with Wireless Charging on the Way
A bit of code seems to have betrayed that wireless charging is coming to Chromebooks, allowing them to be inductively charged. Relevant information can be found already in the Chromium code . The Reddit user basmith7 found reference, in Chromium source code, to a Chromebook prototype called Ryu.
If you want to check out the code head on over to our OMGChrome to geek out on that.
