We have some exciting news this afternoon. HTC could be releasing a flagship Windows phone, albeit not for everyone. Samsung is also showing us a very cool hard drive, but will be showing us no devices later. And if you want a thin phone, you will have to check out Vivo’s latest device.
HTC hasn’t been very active in the Windows Phone market lately, but they seem to be getting ready to take another risk with Microsoft. Leaks extraordinaire @evleaks is telling us the HTC W8 will be a high-end Windows Phone device, but it won’t be available to everyone.
The popular and respected leakster mentions this will be a Verizon exclusive. Gizchina’s image (above) shows an @evleaks watermark, but it is no longer available in the tweet. It could have been removed by @evleaks or created by the guys at Gizchina. Either way, rumors do say it could be based on the HTC One M8.
Opinion: I have been waiting for an opportunity to try Windows Phone again. I must say this will be my next device if it does end up looking like the HTC One M8. It is sad to see it coming as a carrier exclusive, though.

Ever tried a wireless external hard drive? These can be fun, but no major manufacturer has made them succeed. Samsung is giving this market a try by partnering with Seagate, a very popular hard drive manufacturer. Together they have created the Samsung Wireless, a wireless external hard drive that also works as a portable battery.
We haven’t seen an external hard drive like this one in the past. The Samsung Wireless has 1.5 TB of storage! It can connect with up to 5 devices (Android 2.3+). It also supports Mac and Windows computers, and can connect via USB 3.0.
If that isn’t enough, you can also charge your mobile devices with it. Battery size is not specified, but the hard drive can stay alive for 7 hours. All of this for $179 USD.
Opinion: I haven’t been a big fan of wireless hard drives because I find it annoying to having to use specific apps to consume media. This is probably still the case with this device, but it having multiple functions makes it much more exciting. I carry a battery pack around at all times, anyways. Why not my whole library too?
Samsung has been all about health with the release of their wearables and the Galaxy S5. A health-related event was announced earlier this month, by the manufacturer. We thought it could be some new device, but Samsung VP Stefan Heuser says this won’t be the case.

Opinion: If this is not about a device, then what is it about? A new app? A new service? We will have to wait until May 28th and see.
We often see hype specs being thrown around in the industry. Some phones have the strongest processors, the best screens and superior battery life. Others have the thinnest body, which is the case of the Vivo 3XL.
This new device is said to be the thinnest 4G LTE smartphone with a slim 6.75mm of thickness. That is about as much as the company upgraded, however. The new device still sports a 5-inch 720p display, 2 GB of RAM, a 1.2Ghz processor and an 8 MP camera.
Price is also expected to be about the same, with the predecessor costing 2498 Yuan (a bit over $400 USD).
Opinion: I don’t care for thinness, but I know many of you love to see a sleek profile in smartphones. This could be your best bet if you are in that pool of smartphone users!
