We have leaks galore this afternoon! Some pretty big ones, too. New evidence of an HTC Nexus device has shown up. We also have some images of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S 10.5. The HTC B2 is looking mighty glorious in the last leak and we finally get a look at the Moto E.
If there is a new Nexus to come, you can be sure we will see an abundance of leaks months ahead. The Nexus rumor mill has just begun and we have two possible devices being talked about: the “Flounder” and “Molly”.
The Flounder was briefly mentioned before, but we didn’t get much more information until this morning. It is unclear what kind of device this will be, but an Android 4.4.3 change list swears it will be manufactured by HTC. Word around the inter webs says it could be a Nexus tablet with an 8-inch screen, but no one is really certain.
Even less details for the Molly are available, but the Marvel processor and media codec words has been thrown around. This suggests it could be a set-top box or some kind of media device.
Opinion: The Nexus program is in need of a refresh and it should be coming soon. Let’s hope these rumors are true – I am hoping for more HTC Nexus devices. If real, we can expect this HTC Nexus tablet to have some great build quality!
It was only a matter of time before we saw some leaked images of the rumored Samsung Galaxy Tab S series. The first victim is the 10.5-inch version, which is looking much like a standard Samsung tablet, except for the fact it has a dimpled back (a la Galaxy S5).
It’s also important to note that the home button is said to come with a fingerprint reader. Other specs won’t let you down. This tablet shouldo come with a 1.9 GHz quad-core Exynos processor, Android 4.4 KitKat, a 10.5-inch 2560×1600p display and 8MP/2.1MP cameras.
Opinion: I was not a fan of the Galaxy S5 design and I feel the same about the Galaxy Tab S 10.5. It may be a very capable tablet, but I believe it’s time for Samsung to step up their game in build quality and design.
Yesterday’s HTC leaks included a mid-end device that would become the new member of the Butterfly family. The HTC B2 has quickly made it to the internet with the latest leak, a high-res image that leaves little question to what it is.
Take a look below and you will find what could be the HTC J Butterfly 2. We can only see the front, but one main difference we find is that this device comes with dual front speakers. Expect this phone to come with BoomSound-like technology.
Opinion: I always wished the HTC J Butterfly made it to the USA, and seeing the successor makes me even more jealous. This is such a good-looking smartphone, even if made of plastic and being more affordable.
The image below was acquired from the Mexican Motorola Facebook page, which compared the Moto G (left) to the Moto E (right). There’s not much we can tell from the image, but there is an odd grill in the bottom of the Moto E. This could be either a speaker or a microphone… maybe a mixture of both?
Opinion: This is possibly still a prototype, but it follows the rumors that it will be more affordable than the Moto G. The screen is smaller and the build quality doesn’t look as good.
