Acer is getting ready to announce something! In other news, a new HTC smartphone has surfaced and LaCie is ready to adopt USB-C.
Acer doesn’t usually make a big deal about their announcements, so we know they are likely getting ready to give us something good. The company has just started sending out “save the date” emails for an April 23rd event to take place in New York City.
The invite doesn’t tell us much. They are simply telling us to mark our calendars, as they will be inviting press members to take a look at new devices and services.
Opinion: What could this be all about? Acer is not huge on mobile, so I am thinking this is about some new computers. No one can be sure yet, though. We will definitely keep our eyes open for more details, so stay tuned!
The HTC One M9 is looking like an awesome smartphone, but maybe you want something a little bigger. An HTC One E9 has just shown up in TENAA. It pretty much looks like a bigger, and somewhat better, version of the 5-inch M9.
The HTC One E9 is sait to come with a 5.5-inch QHD display, a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek processor, a 13 MP rear-facing camera and a 4 MP UltraPixel front-facing shooter. This would pretty much position this device at the high-end spectrum.
Opinion: So… why is HTC opting to give this phone a better display than the one the HTC One M9 carries? Put a Snapdragon 810 processor in this thing and it’s pretty much HTC’s new flagship!
Those who haven’t been living under a rock this week will know all about the new MacBook. This laptop also introduced a new type of port. Surprise, surprise! Apple is taking another chance to sell you expensive cables. Either way, the new technology is called USB-C, and it mixes the capabilities of power, video and data transfer ports. It’s an all-in-one solution.
It was only a matter of time before the new accessories started showing up, and this time around LaCie is leading the herd with a new hard drive. It’s pretty much one of their Porsche Design Mobile Drives, but with USB-C and Time Machine compatibility.
Opinion: I’d like to add that this happens to be a pretty good-looking external hard drive. It certainly fits the MacBook’s style. I just happen to not be a fan of this new technology, but I will tell you more about that in an upcoming opinion piece.
