The Moto G was Motorola’s most successful smartphone of all times. It became the go-to smartphone for developing countries, offering the best option for those who wanted a good phone without having to spend fortunes. It’s now time for a successor and Motorola has just announced it.
Enter the New Moto G, a low end device that will not disappoint. Yes, it is literally named the New Moto G. Not Moto G2 or any fancy names like that. Motorola has decided to keep the naming scheme simple, a decision we can not complain about nowadays.
New Moto G specs
- Android 4.4.4
- 5-inch 720p display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor
- 1 GB of RAM
- 8/16 GB of internal storage
- 8 MP rear-facing camera
- 2 MP front-facing camera
- 2070 mAh battery
- 149 grams
These specs seem pretty standard, but there are some improvements you will definitely like. Among them is the addition of dual front-facing speakers, a la HTC Boom Sound. These speakers create an immersive sound experience that you won’t believe you have been living without.
Of course, there is a variety of colored back plates and cases you can choose to purchase. Performance is comparable to the original Moto G, which is far from being a bad thing. The smartphone offers fluid animations and good performance for the price.

But really, what you really care about is the price. Much like its predecessor, the New Moto G will be priced at 179 Euros. Not bad!
