ASUS have just launched their all new and revised version of the 7 inch Memo Pad 7 dubbed the ME572C. The new Memo Pad 7 is one of the very first to feature the latest 64-bit, quad core Intel Atom Z3560 processor. We caught up with the new addition to the affordable Memo Pad series at IFA 2014. Read on for a full hands on and our first impressions of the device.
Check out the video below where Sascha goes around new Memo 7 in some detail:
The Memo Pad 7 (ME572C) has a 7 inch 1920 x 1200 resolution display. The device is powered by an Intel Atom Z3560 processor which is based on the very latest Moorefield architecture from Intel. This should offer some good performance from its four 1.3GHz cores, without draining battery life. The ME572C packs 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage running the latest Android 4.4.2 with the ASUS Zen UI. In terms of cameras you get a 5MP on the rear and a 2MP on the front. The ME572C offers microSD support and there will actually be two versions of the device when it comes to marke; a WiFi only version accompanied by an LTE compatible version which is slightly heavier at 279 grams (compared to 269 grams on the WiFi only).
We reviewed the ASUS Memo Pad 8 few weeks back and were very impressed with the sheer quality of the device considering the very affordable $150 USD price tag. The new Memo Pad 7 however will retail for as little as $199 for the 16GB base configuration. The device has been re-designed considerably with a kind of wallet-like design that looks great. We look forward to bringing you the full review in good time.
