There is a plethora of wearables at Computex, and Netronix has just joined the world-wide movement of smart watches. How is it different from the others?
The Netronix E Ink Smartwatch is actually using E Paper Ink. The display features a 1.73-inch screen with a 320x240p resolution and a capacitive touch layer. It only sports a 150 mAh battery, which seems rather miserable, but battery life is estimated at 4-6 days. Don’t ever under-estimate the power of E Ink displays!
The unit is compatible with Android 4.4 devices, as well as iOS. It supports WhatsApp, Facebook and text messages out of the box (among other apps), which makes it a pretty helpful communications tool. It is also good for controlling your music and some other functions, but what will surprise you more is its price.
The Netronix E Ink Smartwatch will be priced between $70 and $80, which is quite stunning.
