The NEC LaVie Z is a 13.3″ Ultrabook running an Intel Ivy Bridge CPUs i5-3317U, i7-3517U with an above average 1600 x 900 display. It weighs a feather light 870 grams or about 2.0 pounds. In true Ultrabook style the body is 14.9 mm thick at its thickest part and has a pretty awesome feature in that the battery that can recharge to 80% in one hour. The machine uses a Network Duet feature to share data storage space with another machine on the network. Both versions of the device use 4 GB of RAM and promise 8.1 hours run time per battery charge.
The LaVie Z is already on sale in Japan with no plans to ship it globally but if you’re really keen to pick up it’s actually sold out with better odds at winning the lottery than picking one up.
