Tech is in the air, and everywhere you look around. Google and Pebble took over this weekend news, so read all the goodies we found.
Google patents a smart teddy bear?
Get your tinfoil hats ready, guys, because it seems Google is getting ready to launch what could be the freakiest product they have come up with. It’s a teddy bear for the little ones. It differentiates itself from the mundane stuffed animals by adding a touch of smart technology under all that cute fur.
It’s said to have the ability to control other devices and respond to voice commands. The toy will come with a microphone and cameras. To make matters even more weird, the fake bear can even turn its head and face you when you talk to it. Pretty freaky, right?
By the way, this isn’t the first time we have seen something like this from Google. In fact, one of their most popular April Fool’s jokes involved something similar to this, but it was a panda instead of a bear. Maybe they weren’t joking so much, after all!
Images of the upcoming Google Photos app leak
The guys over at Android Police somehow managed to get a very close look at an upcoming application. This new Google Photos app is said to signal the separation from Google+, making this a standalone product.
The idea behind the application is very similar, but its independence from the social network does entail some changes will be introduced. Some of the coolest new features include the ability to pinch in and out of photos on the grid view, as well as dragging to select.
In addition, there’s a new “Assistant” feature, which allows you to create your own movies, stories and animation. It’s pretty much Auto Awesome with manual mode. You can always take a look at Android Police’s post to take a deeper look at the app. The guys seem amazingly confident about their information, but you should still take it with a grain of salt. Unannounced products often change before launch.
Pebble Time shipping on May 27th
Pebble’s new Time smart watch was all the hype at Kickstarter. We have been waiting enough, though, and it’s about time to start seeing this thing reach our wrists. Pebble has good news for early backers. Production is going full steam and the first batch of Pebble Time watches is expected to ship this May 27th.
That is this Wednesday, guys! All backers should be getting their invitations to finalize selections in the Reward Portal. Pebble expects to have a tracking number by mid-June, so stay put if you haven’t heard anything yet!
