The automotive industry is finally getting with the times as we adopt alternative energy and autonomous driving technology. Today major automotive companies cross some milestones. You gotta see this stuff, so stay tuned!
Tesla is doing better than ever as they report their latest quarter results. It turns out the car manufacturer has done better than ever. Tesla is reported to have manufactured 11,160 Model S vehicles, of which 10,045 were sold.
Revenue is said to have grown up to $1.1 billion and posted a net loss of $0.39 per share. This easily beats Wall Street expectations, which were set at $1.04 billion in revenue and a net loss of $0.50 per share.
Things are looking good for Tesla this year, and CEO Elon Musk seems to have huge plans in the making. For starters, they are getting ready to make solar energy a possibility at affordable prices.
Tesla vehicles are insanely awesome, but they cost a very pretty penny. These fully electric vehicles are certainly not for everyone, but Tesla is now making it a bit more possible for us common folk to take advantage of an electric vehicle at a lower price.
The company has started selling used vehicles. They are still expensive as hell, but at least you get a good discount over the full retail prices. Prices for used vehicles range from $67,000 all the way up to $97,150. I won’t be buying one of these either, but maybe some of you higher rollers can afford this price a bit more comfortably.
Want to see something a bit more flashy? How about we take a look at the very first licensed autonomous semi-truck to roll through US streets. This thing looks amazing, and to make its entrance more extravagant, the manufacturer decided to demo its entrance by letting the truck drive itself through the Hoover Dam.
The Daimler-manufactured 18-wheeler sure is imponent and looks like a monster riding on its own, next to you. Daimler assures that these trucks are safe, though, as they will continue to be controlled by certified freightliner drivers. Much like any other self-driving vehicle.
Pretty awesome, right?!
