Facebook has become the Mecca of social networking. Evading the social giant is impossible, even for the purists who dare steer clear from creating an account. Even those who do not enter the network are forever hounded by others, becoming an even more constant hassle.
While industry experts have been predicting the Facebook death time and again, the company’s numbers do nothing but rise. Their earnings call for Q2 2014 was full of statistics and graphs, but Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had a few extra details for us.
Facebook is our go-to social network. And whether you love it or hate it, you have to use it because “everyone else is using it”! How much do we depend on this world-changing social network?
It turns out the average American spends 40 minutes a day using Facebook. This is an average, of course. Some may use it for longer than others. Hell, some don’t use it at all!
Another important note from Mark is that it seems we are becoming more mobile than ever. Out of the 1.3 billion active users, 30 percent of them only used mobile devices to access Facebook (during that quarter). That makes for 399 million users! The era of traditional computers is really dying, guys.
What do you think of this information? I definitely spend more than 40 minutes a day in Facebook, but that is mostly due to my job. About how much time a day do you spend using Facebook?
