It’s so hard to find the right headphones. They often have the right sound quality, but lack on the design department. If they happen to look and sound good, they are probably not available in wireless options. Either that or they are super uncomfortable. You get the point – there are many factors and manufacturers often miss at least one.
This is why we were so excited when we heard about the MIPOW M3 headphones. These cans promise a quality listening experience with no compromises, so we just couldn’t wait to get our geeky little hands on some review units. They are finally here and we wanted to give you a first look at them!
Design and build quality
Let’s start by telling you these headphones look and feel just as good as the website advertises them to be. They are sleek and come in a variety of colors. Used materials include leather, metal, foam and plastic. There are no loose parts and everything is solid, yet very comfortable.
The foam in the headphones is very soft and won’t heat up as much as, say, an over-the-ear headset. This makes for a very pleasant experience. And the buttons on the side of the headset offer a seamless connection with your devices. You can easily control music or calls with the press of a button. Hell, you can even use voice commands!
Let’s start by telling you these are not up there with Beats, Bose, Audio Technica and the others. I mean, come on – they start at $49 for the Indiegogo early bird special. With that in mind, we can also tell you the quality is amazing for something at this price range.
The MIPOW M3 happens to come with some great pre-set EQ modes (Rock, Classic and Jazz). You can optimize your music by choosing between these.
Features, features, features!
Now, let’s get to the juicy part – features. This is where things get really good. Not only does the MIPOW M3 achieve great build quality, a stunning design and fair sound quality for only $49. The company also packed every feature you can think of in here!
For starters, the headset comes with both wired and wireless connections, and each supports dual inputs. You can connect the MIPOW M3 to two Bluetooth devices at once. Also included is a 3.5 mm headset plug that is retractable and pulls right out of the headset. It reaches up to 0.85 meters in length. In addition, you can use a regular line-in/out headset jack that allows you to listen in on anything or share your audio.
This is aside from the music and call controls we already mentioned in the previous section.
You will have to wait until our final review to get a real report on battery life, but the MIPOW guys swear this device can give you 15 hours of continuous playback on a single charge. We will see!
What doesn’t this thing have?!
We can’t really complain much about these headphones. They are super affordable and the only thing I really think could be improved is sound quality (which isn’t bad, anyways). MIPOW proves that you don’t need to pay hundreds of dollars for a well-built, feature-full headphone experience.
