Remember that rumored Surface Mini? Now we know what happened to it. Motorola is also taking the stage with a very unique new accessory. Sony is also making headlines with the latest Xperia Z3 rumors.
Microsoft’s Q2 2014 earnings call shed light on many topics. We even found out the main Windows operating systems are to be unified, but we also found out some juicy details on the rumored Surface Mini’s whereabouts.
It turns out Microsoft decided to kill it. Well… Microsoft didn’t specify they killed the Surface Mini, but they mentioned they “reassessed their product roadmap and decided not to ship a new form factor that was under development.”
Opinion: It’s said Satya Nadella has a strong focus in productivity – the future of Windows and Surface devices will revolve around getting work done, and smaller tablets are more inclined to a fun and portable experience.
Becoming a cyborg has never been so easy. Wearables and accessories are becoming quite the sensation, but what will happen when even tattoos become “smart”? This is not exactly what is going on, but Motorola has introduced “digital tattoos”.
These “tattoos” stick to your skin for about 5 days and allow you to unlock your Moto X without entering pesky pins, passwords or patterns. Simply tap your phone on this sticky device and you will be on your way.
You can now purchase these digital tattoos for $9.99 a pack (contains 10 digital tattoos).
Opinion: Unlocking a phone can waste precious seconds, which add up after months (or years) of usage. They can be a bit pricey, but such is the price of confort and security.
Sony’s Xperia Z2 is barely reaching the USA and other markets, but rumors of the Xperia Z3 have been leaking like water through open hands. This time we have @evleaks giving us a flurry of Xperia Z3 specs.
If this rumor is real, the upcoming device should have a 2.4 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, an Adreno 330 GPU, a 5.15-inch 1080p display, 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, 20.7MP/2.1MP cameras and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
Opinion: To be honest, these specs are not that impressive. The Xperia Z2 broke boundaries and took things to the next level, but the specs were nearly as good as these. We expect more out of the next generation.
