Chinese manufacturers Meizu and ZTE are announcing their latest smartphones. All while Samsung tries to give you another view of the world.
Xiaomi may be taking over the Chinese market, but that is not stopping Meizu from offering some amazing products. The latest is the Meizu M1, which the company has just announced as a large, powerful smartphone with a price you really can’t complain about.
The device comes with a 5-inch 720p display, a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and a 2,610 mAh battery. Design-wise, it looks a lot like an iPhone 5c, and it’s even available in multiple pastel colors, like Apple’s offering.
What is unlike Apple is the Meizu M1’s price, though, which is set at only 699 Yuan, or $110 USD. It will be available for pre-order on February 5th, so get your cash ready.
Opinion: This is one hell of a deal! I can’t quite believe the Chinese manufacturers can make such awesome devices for unbeatable prices. Will any of you be buying the Meizu M1?
Not quite convinces with the Meizu M1? How about you check out the brand new ZTE Blade S6. The manufacturer is trying to pierce the American market, and their latest gadget comes with everything in needs to do so.
The ZTE Blade S6 comes with a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 4G LTE capabilities and an “SLR-like ultra-high definition camera”, along with HiFi sound. Other specs are being kept under wraps, but you really can’t complain with that $249.99 price point.
Opinion: This is a very neat-looking little smartphone. What I am most curious about is its camera capabilities. Claiming “SLR quality” is no understatement. It’s probably similar to what they have been offering with previous phones like the ZTE Nubia 5s Mini and the Nubia Z7. I guess we will see its true capabilities when we review it.
Samsung and AT&T no longer have an exclusivity over the Samsung Gear VR. The headset has been hard to find, but today it finally hits Best Buy stores across the USA. The electronics retailer is now selling the device for $199.99, both in-store and online.
Yes, this means you will likely be able to waltz into your local Best Buy and test the Gear VR first hand. It is an intense experience, so fasten your seat belt before you put this headset on. And do remember you need to have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in order to use the Samsung Gear VR.
Opinion: I love the Samsung gear VR, I just hate that it’s available to so few users. Why, Samsung?!
