Tonight’s news is hot! Meizu and Samsung seem to have some tricks up their sleeves. Cyanogen Mod is not staying behind as they release a new app.
Meizu has once again taken it to Weibo (Chinese equivalent to Twitter) to bring us some exciting news. In fact, we may call this lack of news, as we have no idea what the company is talking about.
Their latest publication teases “great news will be announced next month”. Some believe this could be a phone sporting the brand new LTE Mediatek MT6595 processor.
Opinion: Meizu is doign some great work, and has been spreading all over the world. I believe it’s early to tell what Meizu is getting ready to announce. I doubt it’s all about a smartphone, though. After all, they do have multiple devices coming this month. A new device in July wouldn’t be huge news.
Siri is very well known for being one of Apple’s biggest software improvements, but Nuance Communications is the real mastermind behind this digital assistant. new rumors say Samsung could be interested in acquiring Nuance Communications, a move that could make for an awkward situation between both smartphone giants.
The source does claim there is nothing solid going on here, though. Samsung has been talking to Nuance, but no one knows how serious these conversations have been. We assume this could be Samsung’s way to improve their lackluster S Voice.
Opinion: I find this rumor a bit hard to believe. Having Apple as a partner is a huge deal, but Samsung is just as important.
CyanogenMod 11 users can now take advantage of a very nifty app – Cyanogen Theme Showcase. It is set to become CyanogenMod users’ theme central and management app. What makes it special is that it offers great customizability. You can choose icon packs, wallpapers, boot animations, homescreens and more from different themes, creating your perfect experience.
In addition, it supports icon packs for Nova, LauncherPro, Trebuchet, ADW and Go Launcher. These are the most popular launchers out there, so having enough options will be no problem. The app is now available for most CyanogenMod 11 devices, so go to the Google Play Store and give it a try.
Opinion: You will find this app extremely easy to use and well-designed. But of course, it was made by the great CyanogenMod developers. I happen to like it very much and think it will be a fun tool for CaynogenMod users.
