The new line of Martian Watches has been announced and we just couldn’t wait to get our geeky little hands all over them. Sadly, we weren’t able to get them out of the glass long enough for a video, but we have some actual hands-on pictures and an eyes-on video for your enjoyment. They weren’t working units anyways, so it works out well.
These are all very neat devices, as they have a high focus on looks, as opposed to other smart wearables that focus mostly on function and manage to look pretty ugly. You will be proud to wear these to a nice dinner.
They do everything a Martian Watch can do, including answering/making calls, sending messages, releasing the camera shutter, showing notifications and more. The Martian interface is super simple, yet very helpful.
And you don’t have to worry about your actual watch running out of battery, as these devices operate the smart and “dumb” systems separately. The watch itself operates on a regular watch battery and has all the mechanisms a regular watch has.
The smart system runs on a separate lithium ion battery that will last you a few days on a single charge. So even if you kill your watch by using all those cool features, your actual watch will keep going. Pretty neat, right?
These go on sale in the summer, ranging from $199 to $399. Check out the video and let us know if you are getting yourself one.
