LG G3 buyers are getting a little something extra. All while Apple focuses on improving iOS and Sony tries to take it easy in Barcelona.
There are plenty of options if you want to dip your tows into VR (virtual reality). Of course, you can check out the Oculus Rift, or have a test ride with the Samsung Gear VR. You can even check out the super affordable Google Cardboard!
The problem here is that these are either too expensive or too fragile. We need something in between, and LG seems to have the answer we are searching. The Korean manufacturer is making a Google Cardboard-like headset for the LG G3. The main difference is that it’s made of plastic, making it a pretty enticing option.
The trick here is that it is, of course, made for the LG G3. And you can’t exactly buy it. At least not yet. All we know is it will be given away to new LG G3 customers in select markets.
Opinion: I wish more manufacturer made VR headsets like this one. Samsung’s is simply too overpriced, and most headsets are exclusive to certain devices or platforms. Are you looking to get a new phone? Will a free VR headset entice you to go with the LG G3?
It’s always exciting to see new OS updates coming, but we get more excited about the new and exciting features these bring forth. If that is how you feel, though, it seems you may not be too happy with the upcoming iOS 9 update. Rumors say this update will focus mostly on performance.
It will be a “huge” update for optimizations, bug fixing and stability, as well as performance. It’s also said Apple is trying to keep iOS within reasonable sizes, in terms of requires storage. People have been complaining about the OS taking up too much space, so this makes total sense.
Opinion: Now, this is not to say there won’t be some awesome new features. Chaces are there will be, but they may not be the biggest focus this time around. And this is good! Things need to work well before they can be improved.
Samsung and HTC are already making a big deal about their MWC press conferences, but so far we haven’t heard a thing from the other big manufacturer at this event – Sony. If sources from Xperia Blog are correct, we will get no invites for an event.
It’s said Sony will take a different approach this year. Instead of making a big event with flashy announcements, they will just put up their booth at the MWC show floor and show off their goodies when it opens.
Opinion: This also doesn’t mean Sony is not showing off anything new. They very well may, but without a press conference. We have seen companies just sending out press releases and letting us check out their new products at the booth. It’s not really too unusual.
