LG is mostly known around here for its high-end devices, but they happen to be one of the most important low and mid-end smartphone manufacturers. We already showed you LG’s Firefox OS smartphone, but maybe you want a mid-end smartphone running Android and sporting a more traditional design.
Let us introduce you to the brand new LG Spirit, and LTE device that succeeds a device also known as the LG Spirit. Their names may the same, but the device has been improved greatly. Let’s take a look at the details.
LG Spirit specs
- Android 5.0.1 Lollipop
- 4.7-inch 1280x720p display
- 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410
- 1 GB of RAM
- 8 GB of internal storage
- 8 or 5 MP rear-facing camera
- 1 MP front-facing camera
- 2100 mAh battery
- 4G LTE
The phone definitely works very well. For starters, we were surprised at how good the display was. It may not have the highest resolution, but the panel produces some awesome colors and viewing angles are great.
As always, the Snapdragon 410 processor does a great job at powering this device. We noticed no issues or hiccups, and performance was up to par with similar handsets. Some of you may not like the idea of having only 1 GB of RAM, but it may be sufficient for many users’ multi-tasking habits.
There is one main reason why I am a fan of LG’s affordable handsets. LG doesn’t skimp out on features. Other manufacturers save the cool features only for the high end phones, even when there are no hardware or software limitations! LG puts its coolest features on most of its smartphones. This phone will come with Knock On, Quick Memo and all of that.
In terms of design, this thing is actually pretty cool. It comes with a slightly curved body, and the volume and power buttons are still placed in the back. There is nothing loose and the device feels pretty solid for an affordable handset.
