Those looking to get a high end smartphone should definitely have the dynamic trio in their lists. There is no question that the LG G3, Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S5 are the kings in the mobile market, but they are also very well known for their camera quality.
We have put all three camera phones to the test by giving them similar video situations and seeing how well they all handle them. The comparison gives you an idea of how each device handles colors and sound, as well as how well the optical image stabilization is applied in each device.
As we can see in the video, the Samsung Galaxy S5 sure beats the other devices in terms of color saturation and sharpness. The Galaxy S5’s videos simply look gorgeous, with the brightest greens in the spectrum. There is one issue with it, though. The Samsung Galaxy S5 doesn’t have OIS, making the video quite shaky.
The Sony Xperia Z2 was the king of optical image stabilization, with the smoothest motion among these samples. The colors are quite washed out, though, which makes the deal much less enticing.
If what you look for is something right in the middle, the LG G3 did pretty well. While the colors are a bit dull, they are better than the Xperia Z2’s. And optical stabilization is almost as good as it is with the Xperia Z2.
In terms of sound, I happen to like the LG G3 better. There seems to be much less white noise and distortion, and for some reason Nicole’s voice was louder and clearer.
Ultimately, it’s all about preference. Do you like bright and clear images? Do you prefer smooth movements or do you want an all-around good camera phone?
