Today’s morning news roundup is full of announcements. LG, Nokia and Huawei are blessing us with releases and announcements – let’s jump right into them!
Those looking to get a new high-end smartphone definitely have the LG G3 on their list of top choices. The device’s stunning specs, improved build quality and gorgeous design all but guarantee it to be a success, but when can you get it? The LG G3 global release is approaching!
In fact, the manufacturer has announced the LG G3 will start rolling out to Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines this June 27th. The rest of Asia, Europe and the Middle East (among others) will follow through with a July release.
Opinion: It’s exciting to see these devices coming out of the manufacturer’s hometown (Korea). The USA is still not listed, but we should see it soon. We must keep in mind it’s harder to deal with American carriers.
Microsoft probably never thought they would be making Android phones, and now they are announcing the second iteration of Nokia’s X series. The Nokia X2 is an affordable smartphone with a lot to show off.
Its specs include a 4.3-inch display, a low-end 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of ROM, 5MP/VGA cameras and a 1800 mAh battery. These are very low-end specs, but the price is equally small. It will immediately in certain markets for the low price of €99.
Opinion: The device takes the same design language as previous Nokia X devices, with bright and colorful accents. We can assume this will be around $100 if/when it comes to the USA, so it is a great deal for a Nokia Android smartphone, even with such lackluster specs.
Huawei also surprised us with a smartphone announcement today. The Chinese manufacturer has announced the Huawei Honor 6 is a powerful smartphone with great specs and Huawei’s gorgeous design language.
Specs include a Kirin 920 octa-core processor, 3 GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1080p display, 16-32 GB of internal storage and a 13MP/5MP cameras. The only worrisome part is the processor, but Huawei swears it’s equivalent to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 processor. That’s a bold statement….
Opinion: We will have to wait and see how pricing and release details look, but this phone is looking like a great option for Asian markets. We don’t know if it will make it out to many other markets. Let’s stay tuned and find out!
