The LG G Watch R is among the most anticipated smartwatches at IFA. It happens to be the second Android Wear device to carry a circular display, a form factor that hasn’t yet taken off in this market. It looks very nice and well-built, but is it as awesome once you hold it?
We are running around Berlin, catching all the gadgets we can, and we just had to stop by LG’s place and give the G Watch R a good look. It definitely looks and feels just as good as it looks in images. The UI and software work as expected, following the equation Google has created for Android Wear.
What makes circular smartwatches unique is that they manage to look like traditional watches. Though it’s a little big, the LG G Watch R immitates the look of sports watches, except it has a bit of a premium look.
The frame is made of stainless steel and the strap is leather. It is as premium as Android Wear devices get, so we don’t expect it to be the cheapest. Price and availability details are coming, so stay tuned for more information.
