We may have a second LG G Watch coming to IFA! Meanwhile, we are seeing a couple important releases coming in the USA.
LG may be set to announce a new G Watch at IFA, an LG official tells The Korea Times. This is despite the fact that it has only been some months since the original LG G Watch was released.
This device would come with an improved OLED display and should be launched in September, making IFA a great event to show it off. It is said to be called the LG G Watch 2, a name that makes an awful lot of sense.
Opinion: While a bit odd, the G Watch has a very strong competitor to face soon – the Moto 360. Upgrading the current low-end model would be an intelligent decision.
Following a Japanese announcement, we are now learning the Sharp Aquos Crystal is to be released in the USA. The incredible bezel-less device is said to reach the USA through Sprint.
It is not a high-end device, so it should come with a very reasonable price tag. Specs include a Snapdragon 400 processor, a 5-inch HD display, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and a 2040 mAh battery.
Opinion: I must say the phone looks gorgeous, with the screen taking over most of the device’s front. Remember there is no announcement from Sprint yet, but they do have an announcement scheduled for tomorrow. The invitation reads “Take the edge off”, which makes this rumor as real as they get.
The Senkatel C1101 Chromebook wasn’t welcomed with much hype, but it is a neat Chromebook aimed towards education customers. It comes with a fair build, modest specs and a price point that should compete well with the others.
The first pre-order page has launched at Amazon.com, and the laptop is selling for $340. A note says the device will be in stock on September 8, so you will have to wait a bit beofre getting your hands on it.
Opinion: While $340 is not a high price for a good Chromebook, I do feel you can do better with that much money. Specs include the usual Intel Celeron processor, 11.6-inch display, 2 GB of RAM and the like.
