Firefox OS smartphones continue to be rare, but there are some good options out there. One of our favorites happens to be the LG Fx0, a handset that is really quite unique. This is because the outer plastic is actually transparent, allowing the user to see the innards of the device.
This phone will surely become the hottest conversation topic at your local bar. Let’s accept it, the idea is pretty darn cool! Some of us are still wondering whether it is a good phone or not, though.
LG Fx0 specs
- Firefox OS
- 4.7-inch 1280x720p display
- 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor
- 1.5 GB of RAM
- 16 GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD)
- 8 MP rear-facing camera
- 2.1 MP front-facing camera
- 2370 mAh battery
- 139 x 70 x 10.5 mm
- 148 grams
The specs seem rather fair. On paper, this should be a pretty good mid-range smartphone. And it is, but we can’t help but notice the slight issues we still find on Firefox OS. You can definitely feel certain lag when performing some actions. Pulling down the notification bar is one of them.
I may want to add that pulling down a notification area shouldn’t be a hassle on any phone. That is a basic task. Regardless, Firefox continues to evolve and this device still works fairly well for an affordable handset.
One thing is for sure, it will definitely be among the coolest looking phones you have ever owned, if you decide to get it. Sadly, most of us can’t tout it, as it is only sold in select Asian markets. Let’s just check out the hands-on video and admire it from afar… at least for now.
