Most of us want a smartphone with a good camera, and there are plenty of good options out there, but very few manufacturers make the camera the main feature. This is what makes the Lenovo Vibe Shot special. This is a smartphone that focuses on its camera capabilities.
Having the right camera experience on a smartphone is tricky, because the phone maker needs to go down to the little details and make the right choices. It’s about that balance, right? After all, you don’t want your phone to feel too much like a camera either. Does the Lenovo Vibe Shot provide the right experience for the photography enthusiast? Let’s see.
Lenovo Vibe Shot specs
- Android 5.0 Lollipop
- 5-inch 1920x1080p IPS LCD display
- 1.7 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor
- 3 GB of RAM
- 32 GB of internal storage
- 16 MP rear-facing camera
- 8 MP front-facing camera
- 2900 mAh battery
As you can see, this is pretty much a mid-to-high-end device. It has properties of a high end phone, but the processing power is not quite there. For what it’s worth, the phone works great as a smartphone, but what you care about is its camera capabilities.
The phone is very nice and sleek, with an aluminum frame and a design that is, indeed, slightly reminiscent of a point-and-shoot camera. It also comes with a dedicated two-step camera button that will make your shooting experience much, much better. I love camera buttons and don’t know why manufacturers are doing away with them. They need to come back.
The device also manages to take pretty good pictures for its price, though we wouldn’t say this is the best camera phone we have used. Regardless, they will be great photos for a $350 device. Interested? You can get it starting in June.
