Today is full of leaks, as the smartphone giants, Apple and Samsung, get ready for some possible major releases. We are also wondering what’s going on with some Google Play Edition smartphones.
We can’t go a week without an iWatch leak or rumor, but it seems this never-ending rumor mill will end soon. Sources “familiar with the matter” say the iPhone maker is ready to start mass producing the iWatch, Apple’s introduction into the smartwatch market.
Production is said to start in July, while the commercial launch could come as soon as October. 50 million units are said to be shipped during the first year, a number that could change depending on the gadget’s level of adoption.
Opinion: Sadly, we didn’t lear much more, but the source did say it would sport a 2.5-inch rectangular display. Do remember these are rumors, though. They often prove to be untrue, so don’t hold your breath just yet.
Are you ready to get one of those brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab S devices? These tablets are stunning, with great hardware and software. We tested both the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. You can go check out those hands-on posts, as well as our iPad Air comparison.
When can you buy it, though? It has been available for pre-order for a bit, but we finally got a solid release date. The WiFi versions of these tablets will be available on June 27th, which is only a week away.
Opinion: I am still considering buying that Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. It costs only $399 and is one hell of a device! Those interested in the larger version can get it for just $499.
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra, LG G Pad 8.3 and HTC One (M7) Google Play Edition devices have all gone out of stock in the Google Play Store. We doubt a wave of customers cmae and got them all at once, so there is a slight chance Google may be doing away with these.
Opinion: All devices have been around for a while, with the LG G Pad 8.3 being the newest in the group. If we see any of these coming back, it will probably be LG’s tablet.
