We have some great devices and tablets in the industry, but ultimately, we all know what manufacturers dominate the market. Apple and Samsung are taking all the profits while others struggle to survive, making the iPad Air vs Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 comparison an obvious choice.
Though the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is a newer tablet, Apple’s hardware has always been known for living long. These are the tablet makers’ latest devices and we know you will be wondering which one you will walk away with.
For starters, both screens are amazing. The iPad Air’s display measures in at 9.7 inches, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 measures… well, 10.5 inches. There is a slight difference in resolution, with Apple’s Retina Display featuring a 2048x1536p definition. This is slightly lower than Samsung’s 2560x1600p resolution.
One huge difference is the panel. While Apple’s IPS display offers accurate colors and natural hues, Samsung’s screen will make your eyes pop with saturated hues and the deepest blacks you can find in the industry.
Of course, there is the obvious size difference. Though the iPad Air is only less than an inch smaller, you can really feel the difference due to the screen ratio. Samsung’s efforts show in the tablet’s design, though. Even if bigger, the device feels great with a thin 6.6 mm profile and thinner lateral bezels, making the tablet seem much more portable than it really is.
There are also the obvious hardware differences. Samsung’s 3 GB of RAM is far superior to Apple’s 1 GB. We are not sure which processor is better just yet, but the iPad Air’s A7 chip has proven its worth. We are sure Samsung’s Exynos 5 octa-core beast can also hold its own, though.
It’s really a bit early to tell where exactly each tablet wins, but we can say the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 will give Apple a run for its money. iPads will probably hold the lead, due to their innate popularity, but those who look into specs and features will have a harder time deciding which tablet to go for.
