We are at IDF 2015 and there sure is a lot of tech to check out, but we know wearables and IoT products are what will be hot moving forward. Intel plans to be a leader in this market with their tiny platforms. We have seen Curie do wonders, but Intel Edison is not staying behind just yet.
This little thing can do wonders, and Intel has created some concept products that really give us a look into the future of smart products. Have you ever thought of making your cup smart? Well, Intel is working on it and what they are showing off is actually quite awesome.
This cup has an Intel Edison platform in the bottom, and comes with wireless charging technology. It can pretty much perform simple tasks, such as showing you notifications, giving you the time, displaying the weather and more. You can even play whack-a-mole with it, or roll some dice. We had some issues with the latter activity, but we did get it to work and it was fun.
Intel is also displaying an air quality measuring device. It can measure multiple factors in the air surrounding it. Sadly, we don’t know what any of them mean, but it seems to work fine! Regardless, more than being actual products, these units are showcasing what the future of IoT could look like. And let us tell you, guys, it looks fun.
