According to leaked pics Hauwei are poised to launch a new flagship Android smartphone in the form of the Huawei Honor 6X, a 5.5 inch smartphone that resembles the Honor 6 and most interestingly, appears to be equipped with dual rear cameras.
Once again we have TENAA to thank for revealing a new Chinese made smartphone – China’s certification database has been responsible for more leaks than you can shake a stick at. This time around it is Huawei who will find their thunder stolen as certification pics leak a device that is registered as the Honor PE-UL00, a device that appears to be in essence a larger version of the Honor 6. Although there has been no official confirmation from Huawei, it looks like the Honor PE-UL00 will marketed as the Honor 6X, representing a new flagship device from the company, sitting snugly between the current 5 inch Honor 6 and the larger six inch Ascend Mate 7. The Honor 6X takes its looks good looks from the Honor 6 with very similar design that adds a larger 5.5 inch display and dual 8MP cameras.
We have seen dual cameras, or at least dual sensors before on devices like the HTC One M8, and in all likelihood that is also what we have here with an additional lens adding support for features like 3D photos and post production re-focusing and depth of field effects. As if to underline the devices’ photographic prowess, the new Honor 6X also adds hardware buttons on the right side edge for taking snaps.
The overall design of the device is very reminiscent of the Honor 6. The display is a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution LCD, the processor is a Kirin octa-core from sister company HiSilicon backed by 3GB and 16GB of flash memory and the option of adding a microSD card. According to Chinese forums the unit will have a substantial 3,500mAh, the device is 7.5mm thick – unchanged from the Honor 6 – although the weight has gone up a touch to reach 165 grams.
