HTC’s second mini device is now official. Samsung and Xiaomi are ready to bring new great tablets to the market. Meanwhile, we are seeing yet another HTC One M8 version.
The long-rumored HTC One Mini 2 has finally become official and it is looking mighty good. This is because it really looks identical to the HTC One M8, save for the smaller body, lesser specs and lack of the secondary rear camera.
The HTC One Mini 2 specs are not as attractive as the One M8’s, though. This device features Android 4.4, a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, a 4.5-inch 720p display, 1 Gb of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, 13MP/5MP cameras and a 2100 mAh battery.
We don’t know any price details, but this device will be available in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa this June.
Opinion: The HTC One Mini 2 is a fair option for those looking to have a smaller screen, but I feel like nothing makes it stand out. Save for, maybe, the build quality and design. You can find similarly-specced devices for a very low price. HTC will really have to offer this phone at a discount.
Good ol’ Sammy has just started sending out invites for a new event named Samsung Premiere 2014. Samsung is holding out on all the specifics and details, but the invitation clearly shows some tablets.
In addition, the invitation’s tagline reads “tab into color”, which many believe to be a reference to AMOLED displays. These screens are known to have very saturated colors and deep blacks. We will hear more about this at the June 12th event in New York.
Opinion: We are not exactly sure what could be announced, but we have seen some Samsung Galaxy Tab S leaks lately. Could this be the main protagonist at Samsung’s Premiere event?
Xiaomi has yet again announced an impressive device with an amazing price tag. The Mi Pad is the first tablet to carry a powerful NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, which makes it a one-of-a-kind. There is much more to love about this pad, though.
The 7.9-inch display features a stunning 2048x1536p resolution. The device is powered by Jelly Bean-based MIUI software, a 2.2 GHz quad-core Tegra K1 processor, 2 GB of RAM and a 6700 mAh battery. Add a 1,499 Yuan/$240 USD price (for the 16 GB version, 64 GB version is $30 more) and you have a true winner!
The device will come in 6 color options and become available in China this June. International release is still a mystery.
Opinion: Amazing tablet for $240! Xiaomi is obviously trying to compete with the big guys here, and those specs, price and fun looks will really help the cause. Also, did you notice this looks like the iPhone 5C’s and iPad Mini’s baby? Just a thought.
Been looking for a colorful HTC One M8? We have already seen it leaked in pink and blue. This time we are getting a nice look at a red version of the device. The images come straight from Taiwan and the device doesn’t look half bad!
This device is no unicorn in a fairy tell, the forum post states it is already available from some Taiwanese retailers. These images are living proof of that.
Opinion: We have no idea when/if the device will reach USA and other markets, but we sure hope it does. Red is definitely my favorite amongst all the colorful HTC One M8 leaks.
