You can now go check out the HTC One M9 first hand! Today’s afternoon news also include a possible LG G4 launch window and an official statement on OxygenOS.
HTC One M9 on display at select Best Buy stores
The HTC One M9 was officially released today, but it should take some time for most stores to get the display units up and running. Lucky for you, Best Buy has decided to put the device on display at select locations.
You can head over to Best Buy’s HTC One M9 launch page, where you can check availability for your state and city. Why not give it a try? And don’t forget to also check out our HTC One M9 review. We have been playing with the phone for a longer period of time, so you may want to see what we have to say about it.
Opinion: I haven’t personally used the HTC One M9 yet, so you know where I’ll head right after work.
LG G4 said to launch by the end of April
All eyes may be on the HTC One M9 and Samsung Galaxy S6 right now, but we have to keep in mind we have some other important smartphones launching soon. One of them, of course, is the LG G4, which we have been beggin and praying to hear more about.
We have nothing but rumors and leaks to go on so far, but this may be ending soon. The Korea Herald is reporting that “industry sources” claim the device will be hitting the market by the end of April. The same sources also stat the device will come with a QHD display within the 5-inch size range. That was to be expected, but these guys are also saying the phone will come with a slightly curved display, an argument that goes right in line with recent leaks.
Opinion: Is LG’s new flagship smartphone what we are all hoping for? I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the G3 (so was Nicole), so I am hoping to see LG making things right with this iteration.
OnePlus misses OxygenOS release date, but gives us an update
OnePlus promised the release of its new OxygenOS ROM by today, March 27th. Of course, the day is reaching its end and we have seen no release. This is because OnePlus has actually delayed said software.
The good news is that Oneplus is not staying quiet and decided to stand up to its mistake with an update in the form of a forum post from Helen, Head of Mobile Product at OnePlus. The update pretty much tells us that the delays are due to extra quality control. They want to make sure OxygenOS passes Google certification, but the ROM is said to be fully functional already.
OnePlus is not giving us another release date, but they assure that OxygenOS will be ready and launched “very soon”. Helen goes on to tell us they will also be sharing their progress every single day via updates to the original forum post.
Opinion: Despite all the media disasters OnePlus has gone through, I love the way they handle these types of things. They always try to make things right and confront the problem head on. Cheers to that!
