HP is back in the tablet business! First thing that jumped to mind when I heard about the business oriented tablet is, did they bring back their beloved WebOS? Of course not! It’s a Windows 8 tablet that has a street date of January 2013 while everyone else is bringing out their Windows 8 tablets this month.
The ElitePad 900 is a high end 10 inch Windows 8 tablet with features like pen input, drive encryption and optional 3G/4G. Since its got the business user in mind it offers the military’s MIL-spec 810G durability requirements. Under the hood we’ve got an Atom-based Intel Clover Trail processor with up to 2GB of RAM and has a resolution of 1,280 x 800. On the rear you’ll find an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1080p shooter on the front for video chats. Connectivity wise we’ve got a microSD cards, a 3G / 4G SIM card slot, two USB ports, HDMI, a full-size memory card slot and it’s even got a connector for an optional battery slice.
No word on pricing and it’s got January 2013 availability.
