Today’s afternoon news is full of awesome deals from Google and Motorola, as well as a pretty cool new feature from Facebook. Let’s not waste time and jump right into the details!
Need another excuse to get yourself a new device? Google is trying to lure you in by offering $50 in Play Store credit to those who purchase a new device from a specific list. The deal comes with a Nexus 6, Nexus 9 or any Android Wear smart watch.
In addition, customers get free shipping. Just make sure you sign up before the deal ends, which would be on March 31st.
Opinion: $50 in Google Play Store credit can really go a long way. Just think how many apps and games you could get with that! It’s a nice kick start to your new experience. Plus, some of you may be already considering to buy one of these.
Now, if you really want a deal, here’s one that is actually quite impressive. Motorola is giving away a a Moto E with the purchase of a Moto X. This happens to be a $119 value, which makes this offer really hard to ignore. Especially for anyone already considering one of these two smartphones.
The trick here is that it has to be a Moto X Pure Edition and you have until March 24th to sign up. Just get your Moto X purchase set up and then add the Moto E (2nd gen) to your cart. You will see the savings take effect right away. The Moto X Pure Edition is a $500 phone, by the way.
Opinion: This is a pretty awesome deal, guys. If you have been thinking about getting a Moto X, you may as well get the extra Moto E right now. You could always sell or give away the other device, if you don’t plan on using it.
Facebook Messenger is quickly becoming one of the most important apps in our smartphones. In fact, I can say it has nearly replaces my other messaging apps. Facebook is trying to make it an all-around service that we could use for much more than messaging and sending each other cute emoticons, though.
Today Facebook has announced that we can now send each other money via Facebook Messenger, a feature we didn’t quite expect from such a service. The best part is that it’s free! You can simply tap the “$” button and send away. It’s actually super easy.
Opinion: I have to say this is pretty cool… though I don’t know how I would feel about handing Facebook my credit card info.
